GREGORY BURCHARD, AIA, LEED AP BD+C
Greg has over 30 years of experience designing for higher education, including campus master planning and both new buildings and renovations to accommodate flexible and innovative learning environments; administrative and maintenance facilities; dining, residential and cultural spaces. Greg’s emphasis is on the craft of architecture, building science, detailing, and construction. He joined Jones in 2016 after working with Rick for 10 years at a prior firm, as well as for several other boutique design firms in the Boston area.
As a Senior Associate and Project Manager, Greg is responsible for the full scope of architectural services: design and production, client communications, coordination with consultants, and looking after the financial health of the job. Greg also serves as the senior technical architect and advisor for the firm, reviewing and providing Quality Control for most projects, office wide. Greg is regularly invited to Design Studio reviews at local universities and, on occasion, speak at related conferences. Greg’s experience aligns well with the core offerings at Jones Architecture for institutional, higher education clients. In addition, Greg has worked with cultural institutions such as the Institute for Contemporary Art in Boston and commercial enterprises including several retail and restaurant projects, an office tower in Ankara, Turkey, and two multifamily residential projects in Boston, and several single-family homes and condominium interior fit-outs. Greg earned a Master of Architecture degree from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Design from Clemson University.
