Banking on Change
One Salem Green, a formerly state-owned 1970's-era, 5-story building, holds a majority of the office space for Salem Five Bank's corporate headquarters in the heart of downtown Salem MA. The building was purchased by Salem Five, but is only partially occupied by the bank, with a few commercial tenants.
Over a series of multiple interior renovation projects, Jones has worked with Salem Five to better leverage the space they currently occupy and expand into former tenant occupied spaces to meet the needs of growing bank departments and new program elements. Importantly, conference spaces of varying sizes including a large conference center for virtual client meetings accommodates an increase in virtual meetings to maintain important working relationships between staff and between the bank and its clients, a practice expected to remain post-COVID. The new design solutions included rethinking the interior finishes to better connect the space to their brand through color and texture.
